The short version

  • Our templates, guides and illustrations are our own work.
  • Report suspected infringement to support@chalkspin.com with the details listed below.
  • We remove infringing material and tell the person who posted it.
  • Counter-notices are welcome if something was removed by mistake.

What this covers

ChalkSpin's templates, guides, illustrations and code are written and made by us. People can also save their own wheels (titles, entries and pictures) and share them with a link. If you believe something on chalkspin.com, including a shared wheel, uses your copyrighted work without permission, tell us and we'll look at it quickly.

We respond to notices under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and to similar requests from other countries.

How to send a notice

Email support@chalkspin.com with the subject "Copyright notice" and include:

  1. the copyrighted work you believe is being infringed;
  2. the exact link (URL) on chalkspin.com where it appears;
  3. your name, postal address, phone number and email address;
  4. a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorized by the owner, its agent or the law;
  5. a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner;
  6. your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is fine).

Shared wheel links

Free share links keep a wheel's entries inside the link itself, after the #, so they aren't stored on our servers. If a shared link contains your work, send it to us anyway: we'll explain what we can do, and saved wheels (short links) can be removed.

What happens next

We review every complete notice, remove or disable access to the material when it's appropriate, and tell the person who posted it. We may share a copy of the notice (with your contact details) with them so they can respond.

Counter-notices

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or that you have the right to use it, you can send a counter-notice to support@chalkspin.com with:

  1. the content that was removed and where it appeared;
  2. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification;
  3. your name, address, phone number and email, and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, outside the U.S., any judicial district where ChalkSpin may be found);
  4. your physical or electronic signature.

We forward valid counter-notices to the person who complained. Unless they tell us within 10–14 business days that they've filed a court action, we may restore the content.

Repeat infringement

We close the accounts of people who repeatedly post infringing content.

Please be accurate

Under the DMCA, anyone who knowingly makes a false claim in a notice or counter-notice can be liable for damages. If you're not sure whether something infringes, consider asking a lawyer first.
