About ChalkSpin

ChalkSpin is a free set of fair, fast classroom tools: a spinner wheel, name picker, group generator, timer, stopwatch and bingo card maker, made for U.S. teachers and anyone who runs a room. No sign-up, nothing to install, and it's ready the moment the class is.

Why ChalkSpin exists

Teachers make dozens of small, fair decisions every day: who answers next, who gets which job, which group you're in, how long the warm-up lasts. A spinner wheel on the board settles those in seconds, and the class can see it's fair.

The tools we found were slow on school laptops, cluttered with ads around the button you need, or asked for an account before you could spin. ChalkSpin is our answer: open it, paste your class list, press Space. Everything works without signing up, the result is big enough for the back row, and presentation mode has no ads at all.

Fair by design

Every pick comes from your browser's cryptographic random generator. Weights are drawn as wider slices, never hidden.

Private by default

Names stay in your browser unless you save them. No student accounts, and we never use class lists for ads.

How ChalkSpin pays for itself

ChalkSpin is free because most pages show ads from Google AdSense, always labelled "Advertisement" and kept well away from the Spin, Start and Print buttons. There are never ads in presentation mode, in wheels embedded on school websites, or on a Pro member's shared wheels.

ChalkSpin Pro ($3.99 a month or $29 a year) removes ads and adds saved wheels and class lists, your logo on the wheel and bingo cards, a stream overlay and bigger bingo batches. Bingo credit packs, from $5, cover big print runs without a subscription. Brands can sponsor a template, which is always marked "Sponsored". We don't sell personal information.

Our editorial standards

Every template is written for a real classroom job and checked before it's published. Fact lists, such as the 50 states, the 195 countries and the 118 elements, are checked against official sources. We write for the adult running the activity, keep every list family-friendly, and date each page's last review.

Who runs ChalkSpin

ChalkSpin is a Tayari Labs product. Tayari means "ready" in Swahili: tools that are ready when you are. It is run by Fijara LLC, an Oregon limited liability company.
